Smoke Out 10: Thursday

Thursday morning started out slow... seeing's how we checked into the hotel around 3am! Ron and Paul showed up to wake us all up around 8. They had been riding since 5am to meet us here in Richmond. Ron ended up rolling ahead of us, while Paul hanged back and continued the journey with us. We're now 12 bikes rolling to the Smoke Out!

Murph taking a pre-nap (after waking up) before the last 300 miles to Rockingham
Al needed a little help getting the old girl running...
...but once she got going!!!
Finally rolling out around 10am

George blew a head gasket - Game Over for SPRINKLE, SPRINKLE. Now the long wait for Denise, Josh, and Phil to show up with the trailer!!!

2 flat trailer tires and 2 hours later.... they show up!!! Our saviors!

Al taking a nap.... he's been in this situation before

swapping out Sprinkle, Sprinkle for the Junior G-man

back on the road... 3 hours later

We lost Denise and the boys and somewhere around Raleigh, George's G-man battery decides to over charge.... you know what that means... time to eat at Outback - cuz it aint gonna get fixed on an empty stomach.
The Pep Boys parking lot.... yeah... we're still in Raleigh.

Well, we finally made it to the hotel at the stroke of midnight. Beers were saved and stories of the trip were passed around as mementoes of the days travel. We had went 448 miles in a day and a half (it felt like a week when we last left the shop)... we lost count of how many breakdowns we had (or George had). All 12 of us made sure we would get there together and we did!

More pics tomorrow!!! STAY TUNED!!

Smoke Out 10: Wednesday Night

Wednesday night:

The roll out to Richmond, Virginia... started out with most of the Mobtown crew... we had Murph, myself, Al, George, Dirty, Asshole, Dave, Jeff, Cliff, Bobby, and covering our 6.. Gil. Started out around 7pm and we got to Richmond around midnight. We had a little pit stop for a rear brake light for Dave and Murph's rear gas tank mounting bolt popped out. After that.. we realized Al's battery wasn't charging so we had to do a quick swap with George's battery to get it started. Unfortunately, the batteries are a little different. So we had to punch a hole in Al's seat to get the battery to sit right.

After seeing some of the local ladies, some of the guys decided to search out a bar. After following a cabby for about 20 minutes through cobble stone streets, back alleys, drug dealers... etc... we finally ended up at the bar. George lost my glasses in the adventure of finding the bar which prompted another expedition to begin... after buying back my glasses from the drug dealers... we decided we had enough and ventured out to find a hotel to rest our sorry asses!

more to come...
